چکیده

Aims: The production of pigeon pea is lower than the other pulse crops due to non-adoption recommended high-yielding varieties and advanced technologies by farming community in eastern plains Uttar Pradesh. To replace this anomalous, we conducted 152 front-line demonstrations (FLDs) at farmers' fields various adopted villages Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Deoria.
Place Duration Study: study was carried out Malhana, Deoria, under Indian Institute Vegetable Research, Varanasi, UP. A total 90, 12 50 FLDs were sown on ridge method with three (Narendra Arhar 1, Pusa Bahar Narendra 2) from 2014-15 2018-19 respectively.
Methodology: Conducted Deoria. Cultivation practices comprised FLD viz. improved varieties, sowing methods, irrigation, date sowing, seed treatment, spacing, balance use fertilizers, intercultural operations, plant protection measures etc.
Results: Showed an increase yield 4.76–39.20% over traditional cultivation practices. As presented Fig. 3, technology gap highest 1 (1680 kg/ha) during 2016-17 lowest 2 (340 2018-19. analysis data for extension showed that had (540 2017-18 (60 2016-17. index (56%) (15%) 2018-19.
 Conclusion: value index, more feasible

Integrated Weed Management in Pigeonpea [Cajanus cajan (L.) Millsp.]

Uncontrolled weeds cause considerable losses in the grain yield of pigeonpea. Field experiments were conducted for seven years from 1998 to 2004 on a loamy sand soil to study the effect of weed management on weeds, growth and grain yield of pigeonpea. In some years, weed dry matter was higher than in others, due to variation in rainfall received. Two hand weedings, pendimethalin in integration ...

Genetic Patterns of Domestication in Pigeonpea (Cajanus cajan (L.) Millsp.) and Wild Cajanus Relatives

Pigeonpea (Cajanus cajan) is an annual or short-lived perennial food legume of acute regional importance, providing significant protein to the human diet in less developed regions of Asia and Africa. Due to its narrow genetic base, pigeonpea improvement is increasingly reliant on introgression of valuable traits from wild forms, a practice that would benefit from knowledge of its domestication ...

The flavonoid profile of pigeonpea, Cajanus cajan: a review

BACKGROUND Pigeonpea is ranked as the sixth largest grain legume produced by volume and as such is a major global food crop for livestock and human consumption. We show that pigeonpea contains a number of flavonoids and report their distribution and concentration within different parts of the plant. FINDINGS There are a total of 27 flavonoids reported in the literature representing seven flav...
